Setting up your domain
Once you have chosen where to buy your domain you will need to set some things up, these are mostly optional at the moment but some things will be required later down the road to get your new chat server online.
Setting up a website - It is a great ideal to create a website to go along with you server so people can find you and access your chat quick and easy. (Google Sites, Wix, Weebly, etc.)
Domain Privacy Protection - It is very important you get a domain with someone who will offer Privacy Protection the internet is not always full of nice people and a quick search on who.is or any website info check website will reveal any personal details if your not protected.
Contact Email - Have a separate email for contacting you for server/website related issues, this also will help with any privacy concerns, you can have a direct email that will probably cost a little bit ex. support@BrettTechCoding.com or you can have a forwarding email which is normally free to setup ex. support@bretttechcoding.com -> personalemail@gmail.com this uses a fake @domain email to the user but forwards to your personal email.
IP Forwarding - Once your VPS is setup you will need to setup an IP forward to your website ex. 192.168.1.1 -> chat.domain.com , also your IP to domain so it is accessible for IRC clients(mirc) if your website is not setup yet, ex. 192.168.1.1 -> irc.domain.com
